Our process is determined by the materials that present themselves at any given moment. Whether a layman’s vision brought to bear by the hand of a skilled laborer or a visionary’s soothsaying fears eased by the actions of a practical logician, magnetic poles are known to work their own magic. Yin and yang have their ways of finding one another.
Cathedral Projects helps draw the connections, offering a clarion reminder to question everything and challenge even that which may seem immutable. Gathering together perspectives across industry, vocation, generation, and walk of life, we must leave no stone unturned. Our process is as much a part of the solution as the solution itself. In fact, it is paramount if we hope to achieve the level of understanding required to bring to life the things that the world and her people truly need.
We determine the viability of any venture by first having what we call a ‘Look-See’. If there is feasible rationale for moving forward, then the idea meets our requirements for a future world we would love and thrive inhabiting. A collective definition of this future might prove wildly dynamic and nebulous, but if void of ideal, principle, or reason for being, then the project and our efforts would be for naught.
The Look-See evaluates the proposed work through the lens of what we designate as the four pillars of creation. Ensuring that we view the work from every possible angle, the questions asked during this crucial step take temporal and spatial considerations and magnify them using both rational and emotional analysis. What is this? How does this make us feel? What kinds of human beings would this make us into? Has this existed before, and if so, in what form? What constitutes ‘good’ or additive to the kind of world we want to live in? Does this compel us to approach life and engage one another with a more kind and loving spirit?
We are a group of people crafting an exploratory vessel as well as its contents. As both the data and a means for sharing, is what lies at the heart of the work as compelling as its exterior portrays?
We create foundational frameworks beyond the physical or virtual. While widely held laws seem to govern our experience of the universe, where can we flex to cast old notions aside?
We concern ourselves with matters transcending the here and now, life and death. We review all of the possible effects our work might yield on the world. Is life better or worse than before?
We uphold our belief in and passion for art, design, and culture by and for everyone. With the goal of helping the greatest number of people, how can we summon the divine spark inside us all?
